Ron Reggio
Baseball Coach

About Coach
Growing up in Brooklyn, Ron was the catcher for one of the city’s most successful sandlot teams, winning six leagues and eliminating three playoff games. Two of his teammates, Lee Mazzilli and Dallas Williams, went on to play in the big leagues. Ron attended The Dalton School on a football scholarship, earning All Ivy and second team All City honors. He then accepted a baseball scholarship to the University of Scranton, where he led the team in home runs and RBIs during his senior year. In 1980, Ron was invited to spring training as a walk-on by the Pittsburgh Pirates but decided to pursue a career in television instead.
Over the next 20 years, Ron worked for MLB Productions on shows like This Week in Baseball and The Baseball Bunch, while also producing World Series films and documentaries. He created Yankees Magazine for MSG Network, a long-running and highly regarded sports show. After retiring from playing baseball at 33, Ron transitioned to coaching, starting with a 15-16 year-old team in the inaugural year of the Joe Torre Little League in Brooklyn. He later coached his daughter’s team at Amity Little League for several seasons.
